My Beloved Leopard

I would consider myself fashionable, more of a classic/vintage soul.
Definitely not one of those haute couture fashionista types.

You know those girls I'm talking about.
The ones who have those over-the-top outfits which get you to thinkin:
"Where the heck do you even wear that?? And how much did you spend on that again?!"

Trends that I find especially scary are:
harem pants, 8-inch heels, leggings under mini-skirts, really high waisted pants, or crop tops.

Don't get me wrong, I love looking at those outfits.
I am in constant awe at how amazing those girls look.
But gosh, it's so not for me.

Although, when I have gone out on a limb to try out a daunting new trend...
I've actually been very pleasantly surprised.
Example-Bright lipstick, statement necklaces, and now pattern mixing.
Once upon a time back in high school, when I was young and dumb at 15 years old...
 I had this dumb boyfriend.
Everyone has had one of those I'm sure.

He despised animal print for really no reason at all.
Thus, I never wore it.

It wasn't until I moved to college that I started my leopard print obsession.
And boy, did I go out of control.
I have now accrued: 4-5 leopard print sweaters, 2-3 pairs of leopard print flats, 2 leopard print tops, and one pair of extremely tall leopard platforms.

Leopard print matches with EVERYTHING.
Dress, Sweater, Belt: Target//Sandals: Charlotte Russe//Necklace, Charm Bracelet: Fossil//Bead Bracelets: AE.

Why it never occurred to me before to mix florals and my beloved animal print...
heaven only knows why.
I'm sure glad I had that stroke of genius this morning, cause I'm lovin' this outfit.

What's a trend you've been dying to try?
Any trends gone wrong??

P.S. I had a shout out from Messy on her blog "2 Messy", thanks for totally making my day!

  1. I am loving this mix! and I agree about the whole high fashion vs vintage/class. I'm definitely the latter.

  5. Oh. Wow. I'm so with you. I'm just not extremely trendy in the least. But you, you always look of the moment without all those insanely trendy pieces. I especially love the pattern mixing you pulled off here. Very, very pretty. love those sandals too! =)
