trends i don't get

While looking through some online sale stuff a while back,
I came across some trends that thoroughly disturbed me and it made me wonder why the poop some things are popular...and how much longer they will even be considered "trendy".
I took a leaf from "How Not to Dress Like a Mom"'s book while writing this :)

Flatforms
 They look like flotation devices.
Wedges and heels are supposed to make you walk taller, look thinner, and make your butt look higher and tighter.
What do flatforms do?!
The opposite??

Mullet/Hi-lo Skirts
I slight Hi-Lo I feel is acceptable...
but when the highs are half-way up your thigh and the lows are dragging on the ground?
Why?!

The Jcrew Bubble Necklace aka The Blogger Necklace
I saw the bubble necklace a while ago on the Jcrew site and was like:
"Oh, that's pretty cute! The price tag though? Bleh."
Then every blogger ever known to blogspot now owns the bubble necklace.
People come into Francescas asking for the bubble/blogger necklace.
WHAT THE.
There is so much going on with that necklace I feel like it would fall into the grand canyon known as my cleavage and be lost forever.

What is a trend you just don't get?

P.S. You all had some way cool ideas on what type of party I should throw for my 21st b-day! Stay tuned and I'll write up some ideas and dash in some pictures for you on what I'm planning :)

  3. I realllllly don't get the mullet skirt either. And you'll be pleased to know I don't have one of those bubble necklaces, nor do I have any desire to.

I agree with you on everything!

  9. Totally agree with all of these! Those shoes are just atrocious! I have a "mullet" dress but it's very subtle. I see way too many girls come to Disneyland in the extreme mullet ones!

I totally laughed when you said that the bubble necklace would get lost in your cleavage, totally what would happen on me too! I think they're cute but I don't think it'd be cute on me.

  11. No way! I LOVE my "mullet" dress. Granted, it only goes from my knee to a few inches above the ground, but still--I feel like I have a waterfall behind me every time I walk :)

But I agree on the flatforms. Not a chance in you-know-where.

  12. Oh my-lanta! I cannot stant flatforms! They are the ugliest shoe next to a corrective orthopedic nightmare.

I am also with you on the "blogger" necklace. I do think its cute, but its over done.

I loved this post, you should do a monthly "Trends I Dont Get"

  14. The grand canyon cleavage comment was excellent. And I'm quite sure the same would happen to me! Although it does tend to look pretty cute when I actually see other girls wearing it. Not for me though...

    And those "heels" are hideous...

  18. I must admit, I fell for the bubble necklace, but now that everyone and their mom has one, I'm quickly regretting my decision.
And I'm still not sure how I feel about the flatforms yet..
