a berry smoothie in the morning

Since Ryan & I are trying to eat healthier by eating more homemade meals, fruits, veggies, and smaller portions...this smoothie is the perfect "blend" of it all!
{Bahaha, so punny}
It's super easy, pretty dang cheap, and makes me feel all healthy and good inside.
Such a good start to my morning because with only half of my cup filled, my whole stomach is now stuffed with berry yogurt deliciousness!
Recipe
-2 scoops of Honey Greek Yogurt
-Around a half cup of milk
-1 to 2 cups of frozen assorted berries

You can alter this recipe to fit your fancy!
You can add: probiotic supplements, honey, cinnamon, other frozen fruits, or anything else you can think of!

Directions
-Let the frozen berries thaw out a bit, then throw all the ingredients in the blender
-Blend everything together and voila! Enjoy!
Enjoy your smoothie!

college girl problems

My whole life, I kid you not, my mom has always quipped whenever we go shopping:
"We are not buying you black clothes....it reminds me of Vegas."

My dad is from Vegas,
and I guess when my parents were dating {back in the 80's?} he wore a lot of black and gold lame clothing with open button down shirts...which is apparently very reminiscent of Miami Vice?
{Obviously this reference is not of my generation, hence the question mark}

And I don't know if you've been to Vegas as of late, or ever,
but pay attention to how many people are just dressed in black from head to toe.
Especially since it is hot as h*ll there, why are all you people wearing dark colors?!

I have clothes upon clothes upon clothes,
but I can honestly count on one hand how many items of clothing I own that are black.
Which makes it REALLY difficult for me to dress in all black for choral performances.
AKA college white girl problems.

Thanks mom ;)

friday's letters

Dear Halloween,
I had so much fun decorating for you!
But now it's time to decorate for Thanksgiving.
Honestly, it's not as fun to decorate with turkeys as it is to decorate with spiders :)

Dear Illness,
Omg, I finally was able to somewhat sleep last night!
First time in a week.
Hurry up and go away so I can get back to real life.
Dear Snake,
You scared the holy crap out of the adults but the children loved you.
Seriously petting and hugging you.
This doesn't make sense!
Now you are stuffed in a corner because Ryan practically screeches everytime he sees you.
Dear Holiday Hours At the Mall,
You are looking brutal!
At least I'll be getting lotsa hours this season?

Dear Hair & Lack of Eyebrows,
Stop giving me grief, I'll get you taken care of next week!
This whole greasy hair and no eyebrows bit is getting old right quick.
Dear School,
I promise I'll get better, and go to class.
Ahhhh ONE MORE YEAR OF SCHOOL.
Ridiculous senior-itus going on here.
