5 Steps to Fit with DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut

As I get older and health has become more of a priority, I realize that there needs to be a balance in my day-to-day life. Do some tricep dips, then treat yourself to some DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut on top of your greek yogurt. It's all about that smart balance!

Making small changes and efforts towards having a healthier lifestyle adds up! While I'm no expert, I have a few tips and tricks on how to be healthier without it becoming an overwhelming process.

1. Make Small Changes
Drink more lemon water. Eat out less and take lunch to work with you. Walk up the stairs over taking the elevator. These everyday small changes all add up over time! Did you know that if you cut your  soda intake down to 1 cup a week, then you could lose 5 pounds in a year? One of my recent favorite tricks has been swapping out sour cream with non-fat plain greek yogurt, you can't tell the difference!

2. Purchase Comfortable and Cute Workout Clothes
Working out is already difficult enough, why slum it in ugly work out clothes that show every bulge and insecurity? I love workout leggings, supportive sports bras, and comfortable shoes; all in fun colors! I frequent the outlets for affordable and comfy workout gear. I love feeling confident when I'm in the gym, and it helps me work out harder!

3. Find a Workout Plan That's Right For You
Last winter I completed the 12-week Kayla Itsines BBG workout with my friend Ariel, right before I went to Hawaii with my family. It was a grueling process, but I saw some great results from it! I'm almost half-way through the 12-week program yet again and loving how I feel. I enjoy being able to do the workouts at home or the gym, and fitting my workout in 30 minutes each day. Find something that you enjoy and works with your schedule, then give it a try!

4. Don't Stop!
Like I mentioned, I'm currently doing the BBG workouts. I made it to the end of week 4 and life hit the fan, Ryan and I got sick with a crazy cold which took me a while to get over. I took a 2 week break and now I'm starting week 5 tomorrow. Don't beat yourself up if you're aren't perfect, this is a life-long process. As long as you get back up and try at it again tomorrow, you're doing great! Progress is perfection.

5. Treat 'Yo Self
Reward yourself with something sweet and good for you after all that hard work! DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut packages are the perfect treat; they are made with real fruit and have various nuts mixed in which are a great source of protein and good sugars! My favorite snack after a workout is the DOVE® Dark Chocolate Strawberry and Cocoa Almond on top of a non-fat plain greek yogurt, yummy and energizing!

I picked up 4 different flavors from my local Walmart in this display by the check-out stands, it's in a convenient spot to grab on my way out! There is a coupon for $1 off of 2 bags of DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut that you should bring with you this month when you go to Walmart to pick up your treats. I picked the following flavors, and I'm so excited to snack on them this week:

DOVE® Dark Chocolate Blueberry and Vanilla Cashew
DOVE® Dark Chocolate Raspberry and Honey Roasted Almond
DOVE® Dark Chocolate Strawberry and Cocoa Almond
DOVE® Dark Chocolate Cherries

I created a printable (found at the bottom of this post) that you can print out and hang on your fridge as an everyday reminder to stick to your goals! I have mine on my fridge, and it's a great visual reminder to keep working towards my goals every single day :)

Which DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut flavor are you going to pick up to treat yourself?

Aztec Winter

Well hellooooo everyone! Excited we are nearing the weekend? I sure am! I just got over a hardcore cold (yuck) that Ryan passed off to me this past weekend. Marriage is the best haha! ;)

I got this sweater and these boots for Christmas and they have been on a non-stop rotation in my wardrobe. The boots are so insanely comfy and warm! I layered this sweater from my Dad with another ModBod tee from their signature line. Such a great piece to wear with all my big cozy sweaters :)

Snowy Plaid

I know I know, I was just raving about spring in the last post; but the snow isn't melting fast enough and it makes for good photo ops. You dig? I gotta be honest, Ryan and I have been so boring the past few months. Busy for sure, but so boring

Ryan has got 3 more semesters in BYU's Business School finishing his undergrad, and I'm working full-time and also taking the UI/UX Design After Hours class that is offered at my work. We are doing good things, but hardly have any down time. It's the constant battle of balance! Right now my house is not decorated and looks like a bomb hit it, but I'm creating iOS app interfaces like a beginning champ and Ryan is acing tests. We win some and lose some!

Speaking of which, our goal is to get some things hung on the wall before the end of the weekend, lofty goals huh? haha! Btw, this tee is from ModBod and is super comfy! It's a short sleeve and is the perfect layering tee :) I'm going to be showing off 2 more looks featuring ModBod tees, so stay tuned!

Springtime Inspo with Diet Coke

With the snow starting to melt, I'm itching for springtime! Flowers blooming, sun shining, and beautiful colors make Utah bearable after a rough winter. I was inspired by the new Diet Coke It's Mine glass bottles to create this casual springtime look. I found a bottle with a unique blue and yellow pattern on it and immediately thought of this mustard floral sweater!

Each Diet Coke It's Mine glass bottle is different and unique, and started to become available during the month of February, for the month of love! With a Target exclusive offer, you can receive 10% off your purchase of (4) Diet Coke It's Mine 12oz glass bottles, available while supplies last. It automatically applies at check-out so you don't have to remember to bring a coupon. Score :)

I found my bottles at the entrance of the store in this fun bottle-inspired display. I was heading towards the makeup section anyways and love that this display full of bright-colored Diet Coke It's Mine glass bottles caught my eye!

Blue is my absolute favorite color, so when I picked up this bottle I was inspired by the bright happy colors and floral inspiration of the design. I picked out my light colored blue jeans, paired them with a cream blouse with fun fringe accents, topped it with my mustard yellow floral sweater, and finished it off with a mint statement necklace!

All these items I already had in my closet, I just needed the inspiration to put them all together. All of these Diet Coke It's Mine glass bottles will serve as inspiration for my spring outfits this season! The color combos are beautiful and the Diet Coke drink it the perfect pick-me-up! ;)

Which Diet Coke It's Mine glass bottle inspires you most? What would you create based off of that bottle?

Hittin' the Ground Running

To be honest, 2015 was a rough year. So many good things happened, but a lot of things fell by the wayside. My health being one of them :/ I started going full time at my job last July, then even more craziness started with work. New campus' being built out, working weekends, and constant work stress. I often came home and was too exhausted to work out and too tired to cook. Queue the take-out then going straight to sleep!

I started back with my fitness resolution (with the rest of the nation) at the beginning of January! I joined Kayla Itsines' BBG which started on January 11th, I'm starting out week 5 and can't wait to see the results as I keep at it! If you don't know what BBG is, I have a week's worth of workouts at the bottom of this post. I did the full 12-week program last January-April before our trip to Hawaii, it brought great results but then after vacation I didn't have the drive to keep going.

With working out 3-5 times a week, I run out of workout clothes fast! I love this hoodie and the pink leggings below from Lole, might have to snag some once I hit week 6, the halfway point as a present to myself ;)

What are you all doing to stay on track with your fitness goals?

Bright Valentines

I know there is still snow on the ground, but the snow storms have stopped (for now), the sun is peeking out, and I'm getting excited for the brightness of Spring! I got this basic tee from My Sister's Closet boutique and I enjoyed styling a fun Valentines inspired look with it :)

I'm really excited that lace-up shoes/heels are a thing, I think they are the cutest thing everrrrr. These are the Lanesa sandals from Shoedazzle, one of my go-to shoe sites!
