Hearts & Glitter

This is my fancy-comfy look for Valentines! I snagged this Lauren Conrad heart sweater from Kohls a couple years ago for $13 on the sale rack. Score! It's become a new favorite to pull out around the love-filled holiday.

These arrow studs are at Francesca's for only $12, they are too cute! I'll be wearing them year-round :)

I can't wait to see what Ryan has planned for this weekend! I'm excited for a relaxing day with my sweetheart :)

Valentine's Stripes, Bows, and Polka Dots

Valentine's can be such a corny holiday, but I totally embrace it. Heart wreath? Heart pillows? Heart welcome mat? CHECK. It's so fun decorating and getting dressed up for themed holidays! I put together this Valentine's look with pieces from Francesca's, it would be the perfect look for when Ryan takes me out for a night on the town!

This necklace is even MORE gorgeous in person! While it's not offered online, I picked it up from my local Francesca's Collections and was elated with my find. It is glitzy and festive without being over-the-top Valentines-y.

If you're here locally in Utah, you HAVE to visit my friend Nicole from Layers n' Lashes! She is not only the most adorable thing ever, but she's been doing my lash extensions lately and I'm in love with them. I appreciate the extra few minutes I get in the morning to sleep in because I wake up looking gorgeous ;)

What Valentine's Day look would be complete without some festive flowers? You all know how I love my flowers :) Stay tuned for another fun Valentine's look!

I love making fun Valentine treats and passing them out to my favorite people, so they feel loved! Since I've been living in Utah, every year I send my best friend Sam a Valentine package. The tradition started when neither of us had a boyfriend/husband, but now it's continued even though we both have a sweetheart! I enjoy showing my BFF that she is loved :) These pictures are from a blogger Galentines party I was invited to where I had a total blast! It was the perfect way to celebrate love and friendship :)

Little Love Notes

I love you more than a dirty Dr. Pepper
You have the cutest lips/buns
No one can impersonate grumpy cat better than you
I love you because you wash the dishes when I gag at them
You had me at our first date :)

I left these little notes around the house for Ryan to find during this past week and it made me so happy to hear his hearty laugh upon discovering them. Definitely worth the few minutes it took to print them, write little somethins' on, and tape up. Cardstore has free printable love notes just for you to print & use! They don't have to be relegated just to the week of Valentines, use them anytime through the year to show your loved one some...well, love :)

Happy Valentines Day!

Why We Work

We work because we are patient with one other when we need to be. Especially with his latin sassiness and my over-dramatizations. {Speaking of which, he texted me this pic earlier today saying this kitty reminded him of me...}

We work because we've been through crazy ups and downs in our first 2.5 years of marriage together that most couples don't go through in 5 years.

We work because he does the dishes cause I gag every time I smell them, and I walk down the super creepy and small stairs to switch over laundry cause his arms are too buff to fit.

We work because when Ryan is tuned in juuusstttt right, he says exactly what I need to hear and it gives my heart warm fuzzes.

We work because we love to have fun and absolutely love including our friends and family in on that. Which usually means that I'm creative direction for the parties we throw while Ryan gets to help pull the vision all together with his handyman know-how.

We work because he understands my need for: hot bubble baths, new shoes, fashion magazines, talking with my family a couple times a week, and Audrey Hepburn movies.

While I understand his need for: his football obsession, educational podcasts, crazy colored no-show socks, and growing ridiculous mustaches {example below.}

We work because I look forward to seeing his half-asleep smile in the morning and he likes to wrap me up in his warm bear hugs when I get home from school.

We work because we are a great team, and I sure am looking forward to all our years of adventures together {i.e. our couples to-do list which includes going to a Super Bowl and traveling to Italy} :)

Galentines Party

Sasha and Jenny put together this awesome Galentines party a little bit ago, and I've honestly not laughed that hard in so long. I know I always say this, but the blogging world is such a crazy one! I met all these ladies online, and now we get together for fun girls nights and bond like we've known each other for ages. That is so dang weird if you really think about it!

Delicious heart cookies, a cute heart photo backdrop, and the quality company made for such a blast of a party. These girls nights will definitely have to happen more often, because I love getting together with such a fun group of ladies and having an excuse to go out and party on a weeknight ;)

A Prolonged Valentines

Obviously I have no shame.
I know when I do good and I have noooo problem shoutin' it from the rooftops.
Or the blog for that matter.

My present got lost in the mail and won't be here till Tuesday, but who really cares you know?
It just means the Valentine's will be prolonged for another few days!
Huzzah!!
After our Outback date on Friday night, we lazily woke up Saturday morning and got ready for the movie theater. I was dying to watch the new & improved romantic movie for Valentines...Safe Haven.
Ryan said it was pretty much the same as The Vow from last year, but it's been re-named to make more moolah. PSH. Who cares, it's romantic!

Anddd what's cooler is that I met a blog reader in the bathroom at the movie theater.
If you're reading this, hi Natalie! It was so nice to meet you :)

We devoured some Zupas then I headed off to work for the night.
Not a very exciting weekend but it was nice to take a quick break before delving into the hectic school week. Now I'm looking forward to California for this upcoming weekend, so stoked to see the fam!
{A V-day snail mail present from the bff Sam in CA}

Welp, off to another hectic school week.
When will this semester be over?!

The November I Can't Remember

Would you believe me if I told you that I've had this outfit for a MONTH now, and I've just been biding my time until I could wear it for our Valentine's dinner?
I call it being prepared people.

After a long day of school, homework, and the gym we met together at the house and went out on our date Friday night. While we were getting ready, Ryan asked if I remembered our first "official" date. Ryan always makes fun of me because I honestly can't remember anything from when we first starting dating. It's ok, he didn't drug me, I checked. We always joke that it's the "November I Can't Remember" and I always bug him to tell me stories from that month, kind of like a kid who bugs their parents to re-read their favorite book time and time again.

He proceeded to tell me the story of our date, he said that it was the first time he actually noticed what I was wearing when we went out {he was very vague about it though when I asked what I was actually wearing, I guess almost 2 and half years will do that to you!}.
To get prepared for the date, he stalked my Facebook to see what my family's idea of "dressing up" was. Come to find out, in every family photo my brothers and dad are always wearing a t-shirt with a button-up over the top. At least it's predictable right?!

As we were driving, he said that in preparation for our first "official" date that he asked my friends what one of my favorite restaurants was....Outback of course! Yummmm.
When we first started dating we liked to play the "Question" game.
It was a way we could ask each other the hard questions to get to know one another better.
Ryan explained that he always loved playing this game with me because I was transparent & honest and it was the fastest way to get to know me.
On our first date I confided in him that one of my fears is being stuck.
Stuck in a situation or place that I didn't feel comfortable in or that I couldn't get out of.
He turned to me that night and sweetly said:
"Bri, I'll never let you feel hopeless like that again"

A little forward for the first date huh?
Supposedly I was just quiet after he said that, because I'm sure I was mulling it over in my mind to see if that is what I really wanted. To be stuck with him for all eternity....
How about a resounding YES.
On our probably bazillionith "official" date the other night, we ate at Outback, used our Kohls cash to get Ryan some shirts, played the question game, and we took outfit pictures {his idea}!
Oh how I love these themed dates from the "November I Can't Remember" :)

Ain't That Cute

I'm definitely one of those girls who love Valentines Day :)
I'm so stoked for our 2nd married Valentines together, hooray for a fun date night!
Ryan & I will have to postpone our V-day until Friday night due to late Thursday classes,
but I am still gonna be decked in my red, pink & hearts tomorrow!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Fuzzy Hearts & Hot Pink

This is what I wore to the Francesca's Valentines Blogger Bash that I hosted.
I wanted to be festive but not over the top.
Now that I think about it...I'm sure that hot pink pants, pink lipstick, and fuzzy hearts on a big black sweater would be considered "over the top" for a lot of people.
PSH! The perks of being a blogger & working in retail, hardly anything is over the top :)
Plus this Lauren Conrad sweater was a whole fifteen buckaroos on the sale rack!
Which means I had to get it.
I'm glad I have some bloggy girlfriends who understand me around here ;)
