a day in the life of a sickie

Wake up.
Fall back asleep.
Sound like you are snorkeling while simultaneously gargling some snot in the back of throat.
Repeat about 50 times.

Finally wake up for good.
Stare at husband, willing him with mind powers to wake him up without actually having to put any effort into doing so.
Finally give in, and just nudge him to ask for a ride to the doc.

Go to urgent care.
Get told that you don't have strep throat but you do a have virus that you need to "ride out"
AKA take more medicine.
AKA you just wasted over an hour in the urgent care this morning.

Wallow in self-pity with Zupas soup in hand.
Then proceed to lay on the couch like a content walrus in the sun.
{Except this walrus is not content.}
Seriously, flopped out on the couch.
Watch Arrested Development.
Sleep/Breathe-choke through Arrested Development.

Forget to turn in homework on time because of "sickie brain", even though it was completed early.
Send an email plea to teacher.
Pray for sympathy from teacher.
Do more homework that was due today...
but could not be done yesterday due to feeling like a semi-truck squashed body during sleep.

Go get pizzas from Smiths with husband.
Hopefully can swallow some delicious pepperoni.
Along with some more horse pills.

Sickly Crafting & Cooking: Part Deux

So I'm still freaking sick. {Here is the original "Sickly Crafting" post from a couple weeks ago}
Thus, the crafts came out
AND
I tried a delicious new recipe. Very much guy approved.
Mike {landlord/our homie}from upstairs found out I was making this recipe and was practically salivating at the sound of it, cause Kelli {his wife/our friend} had made it for him before, and it was obviously delicious. If just the NAME of the recipe gets people stoked? I'm down for it!

{Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos} by Our Best Bites
1/3 cup (3oz) cream cheese
1/4 cup green salsa (found in the Latin foods aisle)
1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice (half a lime)
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 Tablespoons chopped cilantro
2 Tablespoons sliced green onions
2 cups shredded cooked chicken
1 cup grated pepperjack cheese
Flour tortillas
Salt
Cooking Spray

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 425. Line baking sheet with foil and lightly coat with cooking spray {original Pam}
-Heat cream cheese until it's soft & easy to stir. Add green salsa, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well. Then add cilantro, green onions, chicken, and pepperjack cheese and combine well.
-Put a little in the tortilla, wrap tightly. Spray cooking spray lightly over the taquitos, and sprinkle with salt. Cook for 15-20 min, or until crisp. Then, all done! Down below are random pictures of the process.
{My cooking corner, with Mad Men on}
{The chicken taquito mix, and cornbread mix}
{Spray the foiled pan with Pam, then put the mix in a tortilla and wrap it tightly}
{Then lightly spray the top with Pam, and sprinkle with salt}
{Put in the oven to 425 for 15-20 minutes, and Voila!}

If you try out the recipe, let me know how you like it! And if anyone out there is sick and has a better remedy than: sleep, hot showers, Zicam, Dayquil, Vitamin C water, and Advil please spill!

Sickly Crafting

So I may be getting sick again...really now?! I'm so tired of being sick, it takes wayyy too much energy and it's a waste of my time. Plus I would really like it if the snot stopped rolling down my face at such inopportune times such as: talking to friends at school or in a silent testing center. Gross, but the truth.

I've been in a crafting mood lately, ok, maybe it's just that my crap is sprawled all over the kitchen table and I'd like to get some stuff done before I have to clean it all up. But, the other day I sat down to make some jewelry and ending up making something heinous. It was really depressing. Apparently I need diet coke and cold medicine in my system to make some cute stuff.
{I have eyebrows! They are just really blonde. And the infamous smirk Ryan fell in love with.}
{I was just trying this out together, the zipper and the key that is. I keep getting mixed reviews on it from Ryan, Evan, and the parentals. What do you think? And be honest! I promise I won't go cry in a corner.}
{A turquoise bead with a rolled flower attached. It's really cute in person I might add. If you want the set let me know before it goes on etsy! They are mega cute, probably gonna make some for myself.}
{The current state of my kitchen table...sewing machine, glue gun, jewelry kit, array of beads and fabrics, and to top it off my Diet Coke :)}

Anyone who is sick out there, I'm so sorry :/ Come on over and we will be sickly together. And make stuff.
