Neutral Transitional Sandals under $50

These sandals are all on crazy discount at Nordstrom Rack, and would be the perfect transition shoe from Summer to Fall! I'm in love with cognac, nude, and chocolate colored shoes; and they are the best backdrop to a nice dark wash skinny jean and plaid top!

Light & Airy

What screams summer more than a crisp white dress or blouse?! When I was getting my hair done by Nicole, I came across some new clothing pieces in the Amara Day Spa & Salon and just pounced on this blouse! It's airy and has fun details on the front, I feel like I need to be on a tropical vacay with this top! (Let's be real, I always feel like I need to be on a tropical vacation haha). Plus these jeans from Pink Blush are SO dang soft and comfy!

We are planning our family trip to Yosemite in a few weeks, our last hoo-rah before school starts for BYU and for more cohorts at DevMountain. I'm excited to get outside to do some hiking, kayaking, and biking! You guys have any more summer vacations planned before the Fall?

How to: Take Care of Your Nails After Gels

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #SallyStrong #CollectiveBias

I have been lovin' on gel nails for the longest time, but they take a toll on my nails! Some times I'm not good about removing the gels properly and taking care of my nails afterwards, which does further damage. I picked up the Sally Hansen Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment and Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil from my local CVS store to start my after-gels nail care routine. Below is how to remove gel nails with inflicting the least amount of damage, and then a "polish break" nail care tutorial.

1. Put acetone on a cotton ball, place on nail, then wrap in foil
I used a basic acetone I had on hand, then placed the soaked cotton ball on my nail to then wrap in pieces of kitchen foil. I needed to get some help doing my second hand, but then I can let them all soak at the same time!

2. Let all your nails soak for 5-10 minutes
The longer you leave them on, the easier it is to peel off the gel polish. Although, I got a bit restless after 5 minutes and decided to take off my foiled tips :)

3. Start peeling and chipping off gel coat
This is the part where you need to be careful. You won't want to dig into your nail when trying to take off the gel polish because it will cause some serious damage! Make sure to grab a gentle tool or even use your other fingers to get right underneath the polish and peel upwards.

4. Sand down the rest of the gel off the nail & wipe with acetone
I used a fine grain nail file to sand down the gel residue, then I cleaned up the nail with a quick cotton wipe of acetone.

5. Prepare your cuticles by pushing back the nail bed gently and clip off stray cuticles
Use a tool to push back your cuticles softly, then clip off the stray cuticle skin around the nail to make sure you have a clean canvas!

6. Use Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil on nail and massage into nail bed
Brush this onto nail and nail bed to stimulate nail growth, moisturize, and care for dry brittle nails. This natural oil complex has vitamin E, wheat germ, apricot kernel, aloe, and panthenol which conditions cuticles. This is exactly what my dry nails need!

7. Rinse off excess oil with soap
Since I'll be applying a polish after using the Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil, then I'll rinse off my hands with soap and water to make sure the oil doesn't interfere with the polish.

I want a natural look until I get my next gel set, but want to care for my nails in the meantime. That's why I love this Sally Hansen Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment since it serves as the following for my nails: top coat, base coat, growth treatment, strengthener, ridge-filler, brightener, and ultra-moisturizing nail treatment. Crazy awesome and efficient!

It helps in restoring dry nails to a healthier and more beautiful set of tips in 3 days! The shine lasts up to 10 days and has the following ingredients to make my nails even more moisturized and healthy: avocado oil, sea salt, pomegranate extract, and calcium which fills in ridges.

9. Enjoy beautifully clean nails and nail beds!

How do you care for your nails when they need a "polish break"? How would you use the Sally Hansen Complete 7-in-1 Nail Treatment?

#NSale Affordable Fall Picks

While I love Nordstrom, some of their items can get a litttle bit pricey. I have a pretty tight budget so I only pick items that are going to have a great cost-per-wear. I'll spend a little more on a pair of boots if it means I'll be wearing them multiple times a week and for a few seasons. All of these items are affordable (other than the OTK boots haha) and on my wish-list for when the public #NSale goes live this Friday!

Ice Breaker Neighbor Gift Tutorial with Extra® Gum

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GIVEEXTRAGETEXTRA #Walgreens #CollectiveBias

Even though we've been in our new neighborhood for a few months, we are still slowly getting to know our neighbors. It's rough to get to know people when you just see them in passing! I wanted to find a way to break the ice with our neighbors with a quick "hello" of homemade cookies and the new Extra® Gum 35-stick pack in Polar Ice® or Spearmint.

Here's an easy and thoughtful gift idea that you can make quickly for new neighbors you want to make friends! This is what you need for the project:

Cellophane
Twine
Hole punch
Cookies
Cute tag
Pen
Scissors

I picked up these Extra® Gum 35-stick packs from Walgreens because they are in durable packaging and pack a punch with additional sticks of gum! This is perfect for a gift because it has a higher quality packaging, and is great for my new friends to split all the extra gum between their cars and work bags! It's always great to have more gum on hand :)

Cut pieces of cellophane to hold cookies
I made smaller cookies so I cut cellophane into 10 inch pieces. Cut a couple of pieces to get started!

Stack 5 cookies from largest to smallest
I put the white chocolate macadamia nut cookies in stacks to create an easy and cute way to wrap them in the cellophane.

Gather top of cellophane and tie off with twine
Such an adorable and easy way to wrap homemade treats!

Write a quick note on a tag then tie around cookie bag
I wanted to write a short but sweet note because I'd rather focus on chatting with my new neighbors at the door!

Wrap twine around Extra® Gum and tie with a bow
I wrapped my gum packaging in a piece of twine so it would match the homemade treat bag and be dolled up a bit!

Gift to new neighbors and create friends!

How would you use the additional gum in the Extra® Gum 35-stick packs? Who would you gift it to?

I'm Stressing! // Back-to-College Skincare Routine

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MajorBeauty #CollectiveBias

I can't believe I'm saying this...but we are only a month and a half away from the beginning of Fall semester. Say what?! The summer flies by so quickly! One positive about school looming so close, is back-to-school shopping :)

When I was in college, my skin would break out when I was stressing about tests, papers, and crazy teachers! To tell you the truth, the stress doesn't stop once you graduate ;) That's why I put together this skincare routine to take care of your skin when you're stressing out! I picked up some of my favorite NEUTROGENA® and  CLEAN & CLEAR® facial care products and cosmetics from Target, the products are affordable and every college student could use an excuse to wander around Target aimlessly!

Pull your hair up in a bun
Get that hair out of your face so you can focus on your face!

Keep your hair back with a cute headband
Obviously we need an adorable headband to keep those pesky bangs out of your eyes.

Use  CLEAN & CLEAR® Blackhead Eraser Scrub to unclog your pores
My pores are on the bigger side and get clogged up real quick, gross! The Blackhead Eraser Scrub has a formula that simultaneously exfoliates with cleansing beads to get out that trapped dirt, and the key acne-fighting ingredient to beat those blackheads.

Splash water on face like you're in a commercial
Isn't this step a given? ;)

Choose CLEAN & CLEAR®  Night Relaxing All-In-One Cleansing Wipes before heading to bed

or

Pick NEUTROGENA® Fragrance-Free Makeup Removing Wipes to prep for Skin Clearing NEUTROGENA® cosmetics

CLEAN & CLEAR®  Night Relaxing All-In-One Cleansing Wipes
I would use these wipes as my last step before hopping into bed, they are pre-moistened cloths that remove all traces of dirt. They smell amazing with sea kelp extract and sea minerals, the perfect calming scent!

Wipe face and hop into bed for a quick nap!
Quick naps are perfect to combat stress in your day-to-day. Make sure to clean your face before hopping into dreamland!

If I'm not hopping right into bed, I use the NEUTROGENA® Cleansing & Makeup Removing Towelettes to wipe off all my makeup. They are perfect for the delicate and sensitive skin around my eyes. If I want a clean and natural look, then I use the following NEUTROGENA® products on my face.

Spot-treat with  NEUTROGENA® Skin Clearing Concealer
This concealer combines an oil-free formula with MicroClear® technology to diminish breakouts. It has a great cushion applicator that create a flawless look on my skin. I dabbed this on my blemishes and blended it in.

Use NEUTROGENA® Skin Clearing Pressed Mineral Powder
This product is the first multi-benefit powder that blends soothing minerals, MicroClear® technology, and creates a flawless matte finish. It treats breakouts without drying out the skin, love it! I powdered my whole face to provide overall coverage, a flawless look, while also clearing up my skin.

This skincare routine is perfect for a stressful day where you are looking to give your skin a break, but also look presentable :) Make sure to hustle to your closest Target because if you buy any participating NEUTROGENA® facial/cosmetic product or CLEAN & CLEAR® facial product and then get one 25% off from July-August 2016!
