Give Extra With a Birthday Party in a Box

I read in a study (somewhere) that if you keep a friendship for longer than 6 years then it's set to last a lifetime. Well, that means Sam is pretty much stuck with me forever ;) She's in California and I in Utah, so we've become great at sending snail mail gifts! Her birthday is the December 16th, and I'm staying here for the holidays which means I'm missing her birthday celebrations. Bummer! But I wanted to give extra love by sending her a festive birthday party in a box!

Here's the fun story of how Sam and I came to be friends wayyyy back in the day :)

Sam and I had gone to the same schools since 3rd grade, but we didn't become friends until middle school. Our P.E. classes required us to learn different sports such as soccer, basketball, and football. I've played basketball since I can remember, so I'd always volunteer to be the captain so I could choose my most ideal team.

Sam is an amazing dancer, but she is deathly afraid of any sport that involves a basketball, tennis ball, football...you get the idea. Thus, having her on the team would mean her running away from the ball instead of towards it. After a few days everyone in the class had come to know that Sam wasn't the sporty type. She didn't care one bit! Noticing that she was picked last for every team sport, when I was basketball captain I made sure to pick her first, so she'd have the opportunity to rub in everyone else's faces that she was picked first muhaha! That's when we started to become friends :)

We've stayed close friends through high school and even throughout college even being 10 hours apart. She is such a solid friend, the sister I never had! I just love how we can go a little while without calling her but when we do catch up, it's like no time has ever passed. Sam is the smartest student I know, hardest worker, the sweetest friend, and funniest pal; she deserves the "extra" love <3
