Discount Diva

This is what I wore yesterday for church, and it is practically BEGGING spring to show up. I did some color blocking with the orange sweater against the hot pink top of the dress. Pretty snazzy, huh? So, the other day I had my blogger friend Bree text me asking about a particular pair of black boots I had worn in a post. She asked why my links at the bottom don't lead to the product...but instead to other posts where I've worn it? Let me explain my frens'.

I'm a huge bargain fashionista. Meaning that I will wait patiently until a good quality product goes on mega sale before purchasing. Either that, or I don't mind getting the knock off version as long as it's still good quality. This cupcake necklace was $15 off of Jane.com, and it's a total J.Crew knock-off. These heels? $25 on Just Fab...a knock-off of the popular Steve Madden bow pumps. Who the heck would have known though? Or cared that much to point it out?!

{Remixed: Necklace // Shoes // Dress}

I never pick up anything Steve Madden unless it's on sale...and this purse was $30 at Ross. This is why I don't post links to the products, it's because by the time I post the outfit in where I sport my new discounted piece, the product is already gone! Although, I'll work on warning you all via Instagram and Twitter when there are fabulous deals to be had, deal? Deal :)

Rockin' Sunday

This morning for my World Music Cultures class I attended a different church service from my own and wrote a short report on the instruments used and vocal styles implemented. I chose to check out a Christian church here in Provo with lots of guitars, a set of drums, an electric keyboard, and some rockin' pop gospel singing. Everyone was up out of their seats singing along to the lyrics & clapping, lots of loud fun! It was not something that I'm used to, but I could definitely appreciate the talent & skill that comes with such an engaging performance. Suffice it to say I was grateful to hit up my own church service where the music was a little quieter haha! I hope regardless of where you were at, either rockin' out to a gospel guitar solo or quietly singing along to hymns that you had a great Sunday :)

Easter Sunday

Today was such a relaxing, sunny, & low-key day.
I just relish days like these and wish I could have them more often.
We got all gussied up in our Easter colors for church {pastels up the wazoo!} and then came home to get ready for an Easter potluck dinner with friends!

We ate delicious food, Ryan dyed Easter eggs for the first time and we also did an Easter egg hunt/egg toss in the front yard!
More pics to come of that soon ;)

I can't say express how grateful I am for the Savior's sacrifice and for the influence he has in my life.
Days like today remind me to slow down so I can fully experience my life.
The stresses and to-do lists of life don't matter in the big scheme of things, it's the family and friends I surround myself with...the ones I love with all my heart.
Happy Easter! :)

What To Wear...

I had the opportunity to review a dress from eShakti's spring line, and all I can say is OMG.
I'm in love is pretty much what I'm saying.
What says SPRING more than a yellow gingham dress??
This dress was the first and only dress I wanted to review because it's everything I love in a dress.
Bright, girly, spring-y, 50's inspired, and a fit-and-flare style.
This blue striped dress would have been my second place pick {there is a yellow option}, I would have used the customized styling option to put sleeves on it and make the dress a wide scoop neck.

What's funny is that I used to absolutely hate the color yellow....weird right?
I felt that with my blonde hair that it was wayyy too much yellow and I would start to look like a banana...hopefully that image didn't just come to your mind.
A Bri Banana that is.
Use the code: BREEZYDAYS to get 10% off at the eShakti checkout, and remember that if you sign up with your email address, you get a free $25 gift certificate. How cool is that?!
Happy Sunday and almost happy Spring! :)

The Miracle of a Tailor

I got this skirt as a Christmas present in high school.
There was only a size 12 {not my size} left at Anthropologie
and I picked it out regardless and asked for it as a gift.
I wore it even though it was a tad loose, but this past 6 months I've been determined to get more in shape, and its been driving me crrrrazy that this gorgeous skirt doesn't fit the way I need it to.
I finally sucked it up and paid the 20 bucks at the tailor to get it brought in, and I'm seriously so glad that I did!
I feel like I've lost 15 pounds, what the heck?!
I already have to get straps brought up and hems taken up because of my 5'3 height, but it was a new thing for me to have something taken it at the waist.
Such an ego boost too!
I'm totally with Clinton & Stacy when they say that a tailor is the key to having an awesome wardrobe.
I miss What Not to Wear, I need to track it down online to catch up on it :)
Anddd this was Ryan's get-up for church.
He is learning to pair colors together and I loved the salmon pink with the eggplant purple, classy!
PS, who watched Nashville this last week? WHAT THE HECK?!
I looooove Deacon :D

Put a Bird On It

I was sent this dress by eShakti and absolutely LOVE it.
I originally had asked for another dress, but once I received it and tried it on...I realized that I looked like the most matronly thing ever. The dress didn't fit me the way I wanted it too :/

I emailed them and asked if I could exchange the old dress with this 50's style one, and was jumping up and down with joy when I saw how this one fit me perfectly!
The exchange was easy & the customer service was fantastic.
They have tons of dresses that are customizable with sleeves, dress length, and neckline.
eShakti even has the option to completely customize your dress by sending in your bust/waist/hip measurements to ensure that your dress will fit perfectly to your shape!
Such an awesome idea for bridesmaid dresses or for a special event!

Check out eShakti and register with them today to receive a free $25 gift certificate, how cool is that?
This past weekend I made a short trip down to St. George & packed 3 different outfits for variety but didn't feel like packing a ton of stuff. So I used the same sweater and general color schemes to make packing easier.  I'm gonna have a 'lil series featuring this beautamous Jcrew sweater with pictures taken by my awesome & patient brother :)

'round these parts

Sooooo much has gone down this week.
Thursday: surprise birthday dinner
Friday: s'mores birthday party
Saturday: girls day getting nails done
and now we've come to Sunday....
where I will be doing a truckload of homework.
This last week has been crazy, and this next week is gonna be wayyyy crazier.
2 tests, 3 essays, and a bunch of little short essay assignments.
I love how everything school-wise always happens to fall on the same week!
Welcome to being a student I guess??
I'm sure as a way of procrastinating, you'll see me around these parts :)
Wish me luck!

I've definitely learned how to better dress my body.

What do my curves crave?
Pencil skirts.
Wedges.
Stilettos.
Skinny jeans.
Sweaters.
Dresses with a waistline.
Skinny belts.
Lovely blouses.
A supportive & pretty bra :)
{These wedges were $8.98 at Target. SCORE.}
Have you linked up with Modern Modest Beauty yet to show off your Sunday best? :)
